Poplar, also called Tulip Poplar or Yellow Poplar, is a plain kind of wood known for its easy workability and low cost. It is rarely used for its looks, except for Rainbow Poplar, which is also available at Odd Wood Lumber. Plain Poplar is commonly used for structure, and furniture parts that are not visible, because of how economical it is. However, its other variation, Rainbow Poplar, is used for looks. Rainbow Poplar is Poplar that has mineral stains. It is beautiful, with a wide variety of colors, including green, purple, black, red etc. There is no difference in the wood’s strength or quality between plain Poplar and Rainbow Poplar.
