Hard Maple (Acer saccharum), also known as Sugar Maple, is a plain kind of wood that is good for minimalistic designs or flooring. In fact, it is more common to use the sapwood of Hard Maple rather than the heart. Like its name suggests, it is harder than its cousin, Soft Maple. It is also called Sugar Maple, which is where maple syrup most commonly comes from. It is the state tree of Vermont, New York, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
